Dear Pottery Shopper and Collector, At Zappa Pottery, we have been making handcrafted stoneware pottery for over 25 years. Our work is set apart by its excellent craftsmanship and fabulous color intensity. Our one-of-a-kind Art Pottery and full tableware settings have been privately collected world wide. All pottery made at the Zappa Studio is made by hand. There are no "ram press" or "slip cast" methods being used. When it's handmade it goes through a 30 to 40 step process. All of our glazes are formulas developed and altered through the years. These are not store bought "colors". We use copper-red, cobalt blue, cobalt-splash, teal, teal-splash, earth-toned, country blue, and black-splash glazes. Because each piece is handmade there will be slight variations in the sizes and the finish of the glaze. That is the beauty of handmade pottery! All of our stoneware pottery is high fired to 2,385 degrees F. We use lead-free glaze formulas, and all of the pottery is dishwasher safe, microwave oven safe and can be used safely in conventional ovens as well. We include instructions with each piece for care and cooking. Because we make over 70 different items including bakers, bowls, platters, serving dishes, casseroles, soup mugs, coffee mugs, pitchers, soup bowls, soap or lotion dispensers, butter dishes, gravy boats, jars, candleholders, cannister sets and baskets in 9 different glazes, we cannot include everything we make here on our web site. We do however, have a price sheet, and we will take special orders. All pottery styles are available in each of the glazes. We look forward to hearing from you!
